Alright alright, another malware attack, WHAT’S NEW??? Well, this is a more interesting attack because it actually comes from the government and secret services. Who would have thought? In this blog post you will learn everything you need to know about Pegasus, the ultimate Spyware program.
# what is it exactly?
- As I have mentioned, Pegasus is a spyware program.
- spyware stands for spy software and it is malicious code/software that is designed to spy on you. Spying includes: reading call logs, reading messages, intercepting phone calls, reading emails, logging keystrokes and the most fun part for the attackers, extracts bank information and accounts.
# who made this progarm?
- We know for a fact that the software has been designed by an Israeli cyber-security company named NSO.
# who are the actual attackers?
- Mainly, India and Saudi Arabia. It has been “misused” by India to intercept WhatsApp communications.

- A tip from me is to not respond to any sketchy looking e-mail or sms. That is probably a phishing attack to get you to somehow install Pegasus on your device. What might happen is that the attack might be on a phone call, that is called vishing. The act of manipulating a person for personal information in some form on the phone.
- Another tip, not from me but from pretty much everybody is to keep your phone updated. That includes Android and iOS. If you are on Android you should be running Android 11 and on iOS you should be running iOS 14.7 . But, do not forget the apps. You NEED to update the applications you are using in your daily life. Usually updates only include security features added so PAY ATTENTION. They might patch a vulnerability that Pegasus would’ve used to infiltrate in your phone.

- One of the only ways to detect Pegasus is using a tool called Mobile Verification Toollkit (MVT) which can be found here -> https://github.com/mvt-project/mvt.
